Grief Counsellor

With a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Waterloo and currently completing her Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology working towards registration as a psychotherapist with CRPO, Sarah is moving forward in her career to focus on the psychological health and well-being of parents and families dealing with grief and loss.

Through her own personal experiences and education, Sarah is able to interact with our clients with empathy and understanding. She currently works directly with patients and their families as a Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist Assistant. Sarah helps to mitigate the trauma and sense of grief and loss experienced by Acquired Brain Injury and Stroke survivors and supports their engagement in activities to promote longevity, well-being and improve their independence. Currently with Joseph Brant Hospital and previously with both Hamilton Health Sciences and Holland Bloorview Children’s Rehabilitation Hospital, Sarah participated in delivery of group therapies, including cognitive and psychosocial groups.

Foundational to Sarah’s knowledge and skills is her wide range of experiences working with parents and children in both the professional hospital/health services environment and as a children’s performing arts teacher/instructor.
