Wendy Potter

Chair, Board of Directors

Wendy Potter was born and raised in Montreal. She moved to Calgary to study medicine, raised her family there and still resides there. She practices full time as an assistant surgeon. She has been involved with our Foundation since 2014, when she organized a fundraising team to run in the Calgary Marathon in honour of her daughter, Heather, who died of SIDS in 1986. She has sat on the Board of Directors since 2014 and has held the Chair position since 2016. She is a mother of 5, and a grandmother of two wonderful grandsons.  As a bereaved parent, Wendy would like to see Baby’s Breath further the awareness of SIDS as an entity and to support those who have suffered this loss. She would like to support and encourage research so we can eventually figure out its mystery. She would love to see the organization involved in the creation of a place where diagnosis, support and research are all done under one roof.
